If you want to learn how to make simple baked sweet potatoes, this tutorial is for you and it comes out great every time! If you’ve never tried them before, you are in for a treat. Slowly baked, sweet potatoes transform in the oven into savory-sweet, caramel goodness. It’s one of my favorite things to meal prep on a Sunday because I can serve it with scrambled eggs for breakfast, with Roasted Chicken Thighs for dinner or even eat it cold the next day as a snack – yes I’m obsessed!

Recipe Tips
- Make sure to poke holes in the potatoes. The holes are like little steaming vents so that as the sweet potato gets hot and cooks. It also releases steam and helps to reduce baking time. Plus, without them, the potatoes can explode while cooking which will make a huge mess!
- Use evenly sized potatoes. This way they will all cook at the same rate.
- Halve them to speed up cooking time. If you are short on time, you can cut the potatoes in halve and roast them cut side down
- If you have time, roast at a lower temp. If you roast the potatoes in a 350˚F oven, they will take about twice as long to cook, but it will allow the natural sugars to caramelize for the best flavor.
