Ingredients You’ll Need To make chicken breast in The air fryer
- Chicken breasts: I use 4 pounds of chicken breast for this recipe but you can alter that as needed. If you need to cook it in two batches, that’s totally fine!
- Spices: Paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and black pepper are the spices that make up the simple chicken marinade.
- Olive oil: Using olive oil is the best way to hold the spices onto the chicken to give it all that delicious flavor.
How to make Air fryer chicken breast
- Make sure to pat the chicken breast dry removing any and all water. Once done, combine the marinade and apply evenly over the chicken.
- After your chicken breast has had time to absorb all the yummy flavors you’ll want to add the marinated chicken to the air fryer in a single layer.
- Cook for 8 minutes, then flip the chicken and cook for another 6-7 minutes.
- Use the meat thermometer and check that the internal temperature is at least 165 degrees.
Tips for making chicken breast In The Air Fryer
- Pound the chicken for even cooking. You’ll notice most chicken breasts are thinner on one end than the other and this can result in one side cooking faster than the other. It helps to pound the chicken to even out the thickness when necessary.
- Pat the chicken breast dry. For the marinade to stick, you need to get rid of as much moisture as possible. As we all know water and oil don’t mix! Use a clean paper towel and pat each piece dry.
- Marinate for as long as you can. For the best flavor, let your airfryer chicken breast marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Invest in a meat thermometer. Making sure that chicken is cooked all the way through is important for food safety. Owning a meat thermometer will help you know immediately if the air fried chicken is thoroughly cooked.

This recipe was AMAZING! I’m super particular about chicken and therefore don’t usually cook it at home because it never comes out to my liking, but OMG this is the best chicken I’ve ever had. Juicy, tender, so flavorful and yummy! I added a slice of cheese towards the end of the timer and let it melt. Perfection! Thank you!!
