How to make air fryer salmon

Cut the salmon fillets into even sizes and pre heat your air fryer. You can also purchase them already pre-cut into the fillets. You can remove the skin if you’d like, but it’s not necessary to do so.

Fresh salmon fillets before seasoning

Season each fillet with garlic, paprika, salt and pepper and drizzle a little olive oil on top. The paprika really gives the salmon a beautiful browned color when cooked, so I love adding it to salmon. Make sure to rub the spices in for best flavor, and then place the salmon in the air fryer.

Seasoned salmon fillets to cook

Depending on the thickness of the salmon and the exact air fryer you have, the time could range. But on average, expect the air fryer salmon to be cooked within 7-9 minutes – that’s it! You’ll know it’s ready when it flakes off easily. Then you’re ready to serve it.

Tips for making salmon in the air fryer

  1. Make sure the salmon fillets are comparable thickness. This will ensure that they all cook evenly at the same time. Depending on the size of the air fryer, you may have to cook them in batches. Then you can cook the thicker ones together if necessary.
  2. Check for desired doneness with a fork. When it comes to air fryers, the time needed to cook the salmon will depend on the thickness of the salmon pieces and the model of air fryer you are using. The best way to check is with a fork to see if it flakes off easily.
  3. Pre heat your air fryer before adding the seasoned salmon. I recommend doing this in order to allow the salmon to cook evenly. This speeds up the cooking time and gives a more crisped edge to the salmon.
  4. Don’t over crowd your basket. If you do so, you risk the salmon not being crispy because the moisture from the salmon fillets touching each other can affect the hot air circulating around the salmon rapidly. Air fry the salmon in two batches if necessary.

Frequently asked questions

What air fryer is the best?

There are so many great air fryers on the market. I have tested only two of them based on reviews and I’m currently using and loving the Instant Vortex Plus Air Fryer and the Instant Vortex Plus Air Fryer with ClearCook (Amazon affiliate links).

Why cook salmon in an air fryer?

Honestly, this is the most succulent salmon and it is really cooked to perfection! It’s so easy to throw together and clean-up is a breeze. I love that it’s hands off so you can prepare the rest of your meal without worrying about flipping the salmon or splattering oil. Also, it’s healthier than shallow frying the fish, and the results really do speak for themselves!

Does air fried salmon keep?

Air fryer salmon is a great option for meal prep, you can easily add it to salads and grains for easy and quick lunches and dinners. It will keep well in an airtight container for up to 3 days. You can also freeze the pieces of cooked salmon for up to 3 months, just thaw in the fridge overnight and then warm until heated through.

  1. Lily says:

You mention you can air fry veggies along with the salmon. Can I cook those string beans—same time? Same temp?

    1. Yumna J. says:

Yes, you can do them at the same time! But honestly, I usually cook the green beans first at the same temp (400ºF) for 2-4 minutes and then do the salmon right after. I find this easier since they’re ready so quickly. Doing them together means adjusting the cook time depending on your air fryer model, the thickness of your salmon fillet, and how many beans you’re cooking. I’d love to hear what works for you if you end up air frying them in the same batch, though!

  2. Matthew Forman says:

I’m sure it’s in here somewhere but I can’t find the temp that I’m supposed to cook the salmon at? So, it’s hard for me to try the recipe not knowing what temp.

    1. Yumna J. says:

Hi there! You can find the full recipe (including the air fryer temperature) at the bottom of the post (above the comments). If you click the ‘jump to recipe’ button at the top of the post, it will take you straight there. Hope that helps!!

    2. Kasey says:

I think it’s 400 – since that is what we preheat it to. I’m not sure why they didn’t just answer your question instead of pointing you back to the recipe.

      1. Yumna J. says:

Yes, you cook the salmon at the temperature you preheat to (400ºF). Some readers see the steps in the “How to Make” section and miss the recipe card with the temp included in the instructions. That’s why I like to redirect people to the recipe card—so they know where to find the full set of directions in all of my recipes!

  3. Dahlia says:

Did this for the first time I cooked salmon! Had to prepare supper in less than 15 mins and this is perfect. Air fryer for the win! *not sure if you put directly in air fryer or in a dish, I did mine in a small Pyrex.

    1. Yumna J. says:

So glad you liked it, Dahlia! I put my salmon directly in the air fryer—no dish needed!

  4. Kjr says:

It’d be nice if you’d put the temperature setting for the air fryer

    1. Yumna J. says:

Hi there! The full recipe with the air fryer temperature setting can be found at the bottom of the post (above the comments). You can also click the ‘jump to recipe’ button at the top of the page. Hope that helps!

  13. John says:

Hello, I could only find 5 oz salmon fillets, do I have to change the cooking time?

    1. Yumna J. says:

Great question! It really depends on how you like your salmon cooked, but to make sure it isn’t too dry I would probably do 7 minutes instead of 8 or 9 minutes. Hope that helps!

  14. Matt says:

In your recipe you don’t say what temperature to cook the salmon at, you might want to try adding that

    1. Yumna J. says:

  18. Mark says:

I have prepped and cooked salmon every kind of way except with an air fryer. I decided to give it a go tonight with our new air fryer and found your recipe. Simple, straightforward and flawless. Only thing I’ll do differently is score the skin next time for a tighter render, but this was really good!

    1. Yumna J. says:

Amazing! I’m so happy you liked how it turned out. Thank you so much, Mark!!

    2. John says:

Hi, I’m a novice, what is “a tighter render” and how many scores?

  19. Caleb says:

Doesn’t even say the air fryer temp

    1. Yumna J. says:

Hi there! Step 1 of the instructions (in the recipe card at the bottom of the post) says “Preheat the air fryer to 400°F.” Hope that helps!

      1. Pat says:

“Per my last email, it’s 400 degrees.”

        Good recipe!

        1. Yumna J. says:

          Thanks, Pat!!

  20. Diane says:

Just made this. I went to Aldi’s and got the Steelhead trout which looks like salmon. I did the same but being from Maryland added Old Bay. It was the best I’ve eaten and cooked to perfection at 9 minutes. Thank you for a great air fryer recipe!

    1. Yumna J. says:

So glad you liked the recipe, Diane!! Glad to hear it works with trout as well, thank you!!

  21. Cindy says:

This recipe is spot on! I’ve been sharing with friends and family. Even used lemon pepper. Try it!

    1. Yumna J. says:

      Yum, sounds great! Thanks, Cindy!

  22. Tyler says:

Did you cook the salmon one at a time or all at once?

    1. Yumna J. says:

Great question! If they’re the same thickness and fit in your air fryer, you can cook them all at once. If they don’t fit together in your air fryer and/or your fillets are different thicknesses, you can cook them in batches.

  23. Mark says:

Great recipe. None of that white goop (albumin) leaked out the sides. I hate it when that happens.

    1. Yumna J. says:

So happy you liked the recipe, Mark! thank you!!

  24. Tanya says:

Hi! Skin side up or down in the air fryer?

    1. Yumna J. says:

Good question, skin side down. Enjoy!

  25. Iago says:

Hi, do these cooking times assume the salmon is defrosted or frozen?

    1. Yumna J. says:

Great question! The cooking times are for thawed salmon fillets.

  26. KC says:

This recipe worked great for me. Perfectly cooked and everyone loved it. I have also used your method for tuna–just reduced the cook time to about 4 minutes. Thanks for a great recipe!

    1. Yumna J. says:

Love that! I will have to try it with tuna. Thank you for sharing, KC!!

  27. LB says:

I don’t normally leave reviews but this salmon was so perfectly cooked and flavored that I had to. I’m very particular about how my salmon is cooked and this left it moist and flakey. My guests talked about how good it was for 2 days after we had it. I seasoned with herbed salt, smoked paprika and garlic powder. I used avocado oil instead of olive oil and paired with air fryer green beans. Perfection!

    1. Yumna J. says:

Aww yay, I’m so happy you and your guests loved it!! Thank you, LB!

  28. Carrol Burrell says:

Very good. I am on a low salt diet so it was perfect. Very tasty.

So happy you liked it, Carrol!!

  29. Ed C. says:

Thanks for sharing this recipe. I find myself using my air fryer for more and more meals, and I am going to try this one tonight. Would I be correct that the salmon should be skin side down?

    1. Yumna J. says:

Yes, skin side down! Hope you enjoy!!

  30. Victoria says:

I usually hate fish, but this salmon was pretty good. I added some taco seasoning to the paprika.

So glad you liked the recipe, that means a lot! Taco seasoning sounds yummy!

    1. Yumna J. says:

Amazing, so happy it worked for you! Thank you!

  34. Carla says:

It was tasty, but 7 minutes was at least a minute or two too long.

    1. Yumna J. says:

So happy you liked how it tasted, Carla! It sounds like your air fryer might be a bit more powerful than mine, you can adjust the cook time as needed!

  35. Pam says:

Loved this recipe, done used it 3-4 times in past 3 months. Love love love this. Also add a touch of honey and Dijon.

    1. Yumna J. says:

So glad you love it, Pam! Honey and dijon sounds so good, thanks for the tip!

  36. Zeke says:

Your recipe worked amazingly. 10 min at 390° F in my 4 qt fryer gave us crispy outside, tender and moist inside salmon. The paprika and garlic produced a delicious glaze on top and sides. Yummmm!
This is how we’ll be doing salmon from now on.

    1. Yumna J. says:

I’m so happy you loved how it turned out, Zeke!

  37. Phil says:

Made this salmon last night for the first time, but it won’t be the last time. My wife and daughter told me this is the way we will have our salmon from now on. Cooked in an 1800 watt air fryer for 9 minutes and they were perfect.

    1. Yumna J. says:

Yay, so happy you and your family loved it!! Thanks, Phil!

  38. Dorothy says:

My husband had CABG X2 last October. We have changed our diet 360°. I can’t remember the last time we had red meat. Anyway lots of salmon, salad, chicken, low fat, low sodium etc.
This was the BEST salmon I’ve ever made. I added lemon juice and some dill. I used salmon from Sam’s in a blue bag, thick and meaty.
    👍👍👍

    1. Yumna J. says:

Aww, thank you so much! I’m so glad you love it!!

  39. Jack says:

Delicious. Easy to fix and everything that was promised.

    1. Yumna J. says:

Yay, so happy to hear it turned out great!

  40. Julia says:

Question – the first time I made this, I cooked for 7 min (after preheating). Cooked it on parchment paper. Super delicious!

Since then, I’ve been taking the temperature of the salmon with a food thermometer (didn’t do this the first time) and even after 8-9 min, the center of the meat is like 100F. The edges though are totally overcooked. Most of the salmon feels pretty overcooked to me honestly, but maybe the center is a little more redish than it should be.

Does the salmon just cool down quickly after? Should I maybe cook it directly on the fryer (though I doubt that would make a huge difference)?

Is this an issue you’ve had? Thanks

    1. Yumna J. says:

Hi Julia, is it possible your thermometer is giving a false reading? Salmon at 100ºF is considered very rare, so it would be translucent and soft to the touch. If the edges are overcooked my guess is that your meat thermometer isn’t properly calibrated (I’ve overcooked meat this way). If you liked how it tasted after air frying for 7 minutes, I would stick to that cook time!

  41. Angie B says:

Thank you so much!!! I wrote a whole review but it didn’t post! Love this and will never make salmon any other way!! ❤️❤️❤️

    1. Yumna J. says:

    1. Yumna J. says:

Thanks, Jean!! Glad you liked it!

  43. Lim Kek Joo says:

Forgot to ask: Do I thaw the salmon or cook it frozen in the air fryer? I did it thawed (as I had planned to do it in the oven but changed my mind after I stumbled on your recipe) and the result was amazing 😊

    1. Yumna J. says:

I recommend thawed salmon. I haven’t used frozen salmon in the air fryer before, but please let me know how it turns out if you end up trying it!

  44. Lim Kek Joo says:

My daughter loves salmon. Unfortunately my experiences
It has always been fishy and mushy. This recipe we made together and it turned out great! Now we can agree on eating something she likes more often. ❤️

    1. Yumna says:

Love this! I also love the texture of this salmon thanks to the air fryer!

  56. Reem says:

I love your blackened salmon recipe and seasoning. Can I do that in the air fryer? Would it have the crispy layer?

  57. Bob says:

Your recipe says to “ put the salmon into the air fryer”. Would that be on a rack, in a basket or how? Plus something underneath to catch drippings?
My fryer isn’t shaped like yours. It’s rectangular.

    1. Yumna says:

You don’t need to line it with anything, you can simply place it in the basket of the air fryer and then cook.

  58. Jan says:

    Oh this is your recipe!!
Oh my goodness this is my go-to recipe!! It comes out perfect every time. I didn’t use to like salmon before cuz it was fishy tasting but this recipe makes it just like you said!! Thank you Yumna!!! 🤗❤️

  59. Valerie says:

Yay, welcome to the amazing world of air fryers! So happy you enjoyed this recipe.

  60. BERNARD says:

Can I use whole frozen salmon. If so, do I thaw it first OR cut the steaks and air fry.
If frozen, what temperature do I use:

    1. Yumna says:

Yes, you would need to thaw the salmon first. Also, yes, you would need to cut the salmon into individual portions before cooking in the airfryer.

  61. Ana La Clair says:

    Wonderful!!!! Love it!!

    1. Yumna says:

      Yay! Thanks so much.

  64. Sharon says:

We have a Phillips XXL air fryer and cooked ours at 200 degrees celsius for just 6 minutes and it was perfect for us! (We let it stand for a few minutes too) We like it a bit pink in the middle 🙂👍 I took a photo of it but it won’t let me post it! They were quite thick pieces.

    1. Yumna says:

      Thanks for letting me know!

  65. Aquamdax says:

I had to cook it for about 20 min at 400

    1. Yumna says:

Thanks for your feedback and sorry to hear your salmon took so long to cook. How long did you preheat the airfryer for?

  66. Michael says:

I’m new to cooking fish. Is this with the skin on the filets or off?

    1. Yumna says:

Totally up to your preference, either way will work.

  67. Christine says:

Yum! And super easy. I’m not a salmon person but this was nice, did not taste fishy at all. Love the combo of paprika and garlic. Cooked well at 8 mins in my phillips airfryer.

    1. Yumna says:

Thanks for letting me know the timing that worked in your air fryer! Really happy you enjoyed the flavor of this!

  68. Barbara says:

Made this for dinner tonight! It was so easy and so delicious! Thank you for creating an amazing dish!

    1. Yumna says:

      Glad you liked it!

  69. Elaine DeAndrea says:

I’m a new air fryer user & this is a nice simple recipe that I should be able to handle. Could I substitute & use a
    special salmon seasoning ?

    1. Yumna says:

Yes, that should work out well. Hope you enjoy it!

    2. Roger says:

I enjoy broiling Salmon and have finally got it down grilling on the BBQ, especially in Summer.
Look forward to trying air frying. Will definitely speed the dinner time. Haven’t tried it with Paprika, sounds interesting too.
Many times I sub Sesame Oil for Olive Oil if I’m cooking Salmon for Chinese. We love an orange glaze, sweet Chile sauce or a combination of both depending on what we will serve it over and our sides.

Let you know my thoughts, but it sounds very promising… Thanks for sharing.

      1. Yumna says:

Hope you enjoy! It’s such a nice, quick and flavorful way to make salmon!

  70. Jo Anne H says:

    1. Yumna says:

Hi there, you can find the full recipe at the bottom of the blog post. To navigate to it quickly, you can click ‘jump to recipe’. This salmon is cooked in the air fryer at 400˚F.

  77. Deesh says:

  78. Vickie says:

    1. Yumna says:

      Great, so glad!

  79. Jenn says:

Which setting do I use on the Instant Vortex? You don’t specify if you use the roast or air fry, and the Instant site specifies roast. Thank you!

    1. Yumna says:

Sorry about that! I use the Air Fry setting for all my recipes using Instant Vortex.

  80. Craig says:

Thanks Yumna. I use this method often and love the results. To save time a few days ago I purchased pre-seasoned Salmon filets. Used the same cooking technique. Excellent!

    1. Yumna says:

      Glad you have enjoyed it!

  81. Pam says:

    skin off or on salmon?

    1. Yumna says:

It was amazing new recipe for me to make for my brother and parents. Thank You!

    1. Yumna says:

      So happy to hear!

  85. Jan says:

I love salmon now thanks to you!
It was always so fishy tasting so I never ordered it. I would always go for white fish like swordfish or sea bass. Thank you so much!
I didn’t have lemon so I used lime and the other seasonings aren’t good for dogs so I use Baharat. My new favorite spice. My dog ate it so fast, and wanted more.
    Thanks again!!

    1. Yumna says:

So glad you enjoyed it and found a new favorite recipe!

  86. Don says:

short of screen capture, is there an easy way to print out everything?

    1. Yumna says:

Hi there! Yes, if you click “jump to recipe” at the top of the page it will bring you directly to the full recipe card at the bottom of the page. There, if you hover over the thumbnail image of the recipe you will see a print icon that you can click on to print out the recipe. Hope this helps!

    1. Yumna says:

Of course, happy you enjoyed it!

  88. Shama says:

First time tried cooking salmon in the air fryer.
Recipe was spot on- thank you for making it easy

    1. Yumna says:

      So glad to hear!

  89. Taylor Hudson says:

I read it over and over and couldn’t find anything about what temperature is needed. I’m looking at this off my phone and if the temperature is listed somewhere then it’s very well hidden

    1. Yumna says:

This is cooked in a preheated air fryer at 400˚F. If you click “jump to recipe” at the top of the page you can very quickly and easily navigate to the full recipe card with the full list of ingredients and method.

  90. Cindy says:

    The temp was omitted

    1. Yumna says:

In the full recipe card (which you can find by clicking “jump to recipe”) you will see the first step calls for preheating the air fryer to 400˚F.

  91. Jar says:

The recipe was perfect, salmon was delicious. I will use this recipe again. I used norwegian salmon

    1. Yumna says:

Yay! So happy you liked it!

  92. CJ says:

Like the recipe but like the rest of the salmon recipes no one talks about the type of salmon they are using. You got Atlantic salmon, sockeye salmon etc…..Sockeye salmon cooks differently than atlantic salmon in the air fryer.

    1. Yumna says:

Depending on the thickness of the salmon and the exact air fryer you have, the time could range. But on average, expect the air fryer salmon to be cooked within 7-9 minutes. I like coho and sockeye salmon most, but this method will work for your preferred type!

  93. Julio says:

First time I cook Salmon using your recipe and in the Air Fryer.
Delicious. My family enjoyed it so much that they want me to cook more frequently.
Thank You for this wonderful recipe.

    1. Yumna J. says:

You’re so welcome! Thank you for making my recipe for your family!

  94. Don Puckett says:

In all the recipes the temperature setting is never stated

    1. Yumna J. says:

Hi Don, you can find the temperature setting in the recipe card right above the comments. Hope you enjoy!

  95. Willie says:

I don’t know how this recipe garnered so many fav ratings when it doesn’t 3ven what temperature to set the air fryer. It only mentions to preheat at 400 SMH

    1. Yumna J. says:

Hi Willie, 400 is the temperature you use for the recipe.

  96. Casey says:

My husband said this was perfect and delicious and he is a tough crowd when it comes to salmon. I have a Costco air fryer, a Gourmia. I cut up 6ish oz filets and used the exact oil and seasoning the recipe calls for and cooked at 400 for 11 minutes, did not flip them, and my dudes said they were perf. Will make again for sure.

    1. Yumna J. says:

So happy to hear that, Casey!!

  97. Sharon says:

OMG! Absolutely the BEST perfectly cooked salmon ever!!❤️

    1. Yumna J. says:

      Thank you so much!

  101. Jill says:

Do you need to line the basket with foil and cooking spray before cooking?

    1. Yumna J. says:

You do not need to do either, but if you prefer you can spray the basket with cooking oil first.

  102. Sierra says:

DELISH! We cooked this up with some asparagus and basmati rice on the side, and my husband said, “I think I could eat this meal for the rest of my life.”

    1. Yumna J. says:

Aw, tell him I said thank you!!

  103. Djamila says:

This was really good! I preheated at 400°F then sprayed the air fryer basket with Pam. Then cooked at 375°F for about 12 minutes until the salmon reached 145°F (I have a Ninja air fryer). Served mine with quinoa and stir-fried kale. My 8yo ate it right up!

    1. Yumna J. says:

      Thanks so much!

  104. Steve says:

This recipe would be better if a cooking temp was included

    1. Yumna J. says:

Hi Steve! You can find the temperature in the recipe card right above the comments. Hope you enjoy!

  105. Russ says:

    Easy. Works. Thanks.

    2. Duane says:

      Step 1: Preheat to 400

Wow this salmon is delicious! So easy, too. We will be making it again soon. Thanks for the recipe!

    1. Yumna J. says:

You’re so welcome! Thank you for making it!

  108. Cheri says:

I tried this recipe with my frozen salmon- I cooked it the full 9 minutes and my husband said it was perfect! I love cooking fish in the air fryer and this recipe will be a staple for Salmon in this house!

    1. Yumna J. says:

So happy to hear that it worked well for you!

  109. Clare says:

This was really easy and delicious. I made it along with some TJ’s Kitchari for a complete meal. I will definitely make it again.

  110. Julie says:

This looks wonderful! What if using frozen salmon?

    1. Yumna J. says:

You’ll want to let the salmon thaw first, I have not tried this recipe going from freezer to air fryer. If you do try it with frozen salmon you’ll have to let me know how it turned out!

  111. Robbie C says:

This will be my go-to method for cooking salmon now. It turned out great!

    1. Yumna J. says:

So glad you like the salmon, Robbie!

  112. Mark Daniels says:

Another great recipe and method. I used to bake my salmon but this is superb in the air fryer. Not anymore!

    1. Yumna J. says:

So glad you liked the salmon, Mark!

  113. S W says:

Oh my goodness. Followed exactly except I had 2 8oz fresh Norwegian salmon pieces. By far the most tender and delicious salmon I’ve had! Thank you!!

    1. Yumna J. says:

You’re so welcome! So glad it turned out well!

  114. :D says:

How long and what temp. to air fry green beans as seen in your video?

    1. Yumna J. says:

You can find the temperature and time in the recipe card right above the comment section. Hope that helps!

  115. Nj says:

Hi – do you bake or grill it in the air fryer?

    1. Yumna J. says:

You’ll want to use the air fry function if you have a multi-use appliance.

  116. Raine Pierce says:

Do you make your own tartar sauce?
Can you send the recipe to me?
I’ve tried many tartar sauce recipes and none were good. Other than lemon, do you recommend any other sauce?
I can’t wait to make the salmon recipe!

    1. Yumna J. says:

1 cup mayo (or Greek yogurt)
      1 tablespoon pickled relish
1 teaspoon mustard (yellow but Dijon is more similar to FGF)
      Half a fresh lemon
      1/2 teaspoon dill

      Hope you enjoy!

  117. Becky says:

Can I use sockeye salmon for this? Has anyone tried it?

    1. Yumna J. says:

Yes, that is actually what I use. Sockeye works great!

  118. Tara says:

I just made this for dinner tonight and OMG was it delicious. It was really tasty and simple. I never made my own salmon before, much less in the air fryer. It was legit restaurant quality.

  119. Dana says:

I use this recipe every time I cook salmon. It’s so good the family loves it..

    1. Yumna J. says:

      Thanks so much, Dana!

I haven’t tried it yet but I’m definitely trying it today ill be back to let u know how everyone likes it.

    1. Yumna J. says:

Please do let me know! Hope you enjoy!

  121. Maz Zee says:

This was excellent. 9 mins was perfect. Made 2 pieces. I seasoned it and something came up so I had it in the fridge for a few hours. We loved the crispy top too. Thank you. The only way I’ll ever make it again and will share this recipe with family and friends.

    1. Yumna J. says:

Thank you so much, Maz Zee! Happy to hear that you liked it!

  122. Marshall says:

    No.cooking temp listed??? Kind.of important?

    1. Yumna J. says:

Hi Marshall, you can find the temp as well as the time on the recipe card just above the comment section. Hope you enjoy!

  123. P says:

Delicious! So easy, quick, and I loved the slightly crispy top. Followed the recipe as is. My air fryer was perfect size for 2 pieces. I cooked them 7 minutes after preheating and am delighted to have another 2 fillets cooked and ready for leftovers. Yum!!

    1. Yumna J. says:

      Thank you so much!

    1. Yumna J. says:

    1. Yumna J. says:

Thank you so much, Mark! I am so glad you liked it!

  127. Cindy says:

This recipe is definitely a keeper. Followed your recipe – made no changes and it was delicious and so easy.

    1. Yumna J. says:

      Thank you so much, Cindy!

  128. Jeri says:

Followed directions but the Salmon was overdone at 6 minutes. I have a Ninja and maybe it’s a more robust air fryer.

    1. Yumna J. says:

Oh no! I am sorry to hear that! Cooking time does vary a little depending on the size of your fillet, and type of air fryer as well as the temperature you like your salmon cooked at

    2. Aurea G says:

I have a ninja foodi and cooked it for 9 minutes but I wanted to cook it a little longer so I did 13 minutes total. However I shook the basket at the halfway point. I hope that helps. This recipe was delicious! Definitely going to be a staple.

  129. Charlie Bublik says:

    Hi Yumna!
I’m Charlie. I’m almost 79 years old – retired Photographer and ex-Navy. I love to cook and spend a lot of time on the computer now that I’m retired. I love to cook and my Dr. says to watch what I eat so I’m watching a lot of it. I’m trying your ideas for air fryer salmon. Looks good! Sounds good! If I don’t screw it up, I’ll bet it tastes good! I’ll let you know!

    1. Yumna J. says:

Hi Charlie! So glad to have you here! I hope you enjoy the air fryer salmon. Please do let me know what you think!

  130. Lynn says:

Hi, the recipe looks yummy, can’t wait to try; so I understand no flipping is necessary, and which basket would you recommend – perforated or solid? Thx

    1. Yumna J. says:

Hi Lynn! I use perforated myself. I haven’t tested it in a solid basket. You’ll have to let me know what you think when you make it! Hope you enjoy it!

    2. Lynn says:

Hi again, made as directed and it was delicious, my hubby’s favorite! I served it over homemade fried rice I had handy in the freezer with a spritz of lemon. Will make this again and again, thanks so much for an easy great entree!

      1. Yumna J. says:

Yay! So glad that it turned out well for you and you guys enjoyed it!

  131. Lisa T. says:

This was delicious! I followed the recipe and added a couple spices I had in the cabinet. It came out really good! I cooked it at 400 degrees for about 12 minutes. Thank you for sharing!

    1. Yumna J. says:

Thank you so much, Lisa! I am glad you enjoyed it!!

      1. pt says:

I have frozen, same size salmon fillets. Can I make this using frozen fillets? If yes, what changes in cooking time would you make? Thanks

        1. Yumna J. says:

For this specific recipe, I would not advise using frozen salmon. You can use thawed frozen salmon, but if you used actual frozen salmon, the olive oil and seasoning won’t stick as well or coat evenly.

  132. Ava says:

This recipe is fantastic!! It was such a great recipe for my air fryer. Unfortunately my air fryer just got recalled, what temperature and for how long would you cook this in the oven?

    1. Yumna J. says:

Oh no! I am sorry to hear that! You can cook it at 425˚F for 8-10 minutes or until your salmon has reached your desired doneness, that’s the setting I use when making Salmon baked in butter in the oven. Enjoy!

  133. Hope says:

Since trying the first time, this is the only way I cook salmon. I put a thin layer of mayo on instead of oil before spices. (I despise mayo but you can’t taste it once cooked).
It is the most succulent salmon I’ve ever had. Thank you for the recipe.

    1. Yumna J. says:

Oo Yum! That sounds like a great way to keep the salmon moist thank you for sharing!

  134. Vic B says:

    Excellent!

9 minutes total time to a delicious healthy meal.

    1. Yumna J. says:

      Thank you so much, Vic!

  135. Julie Franke says:

I made this as directed in my Whirlpool 5 in 1 oven. It turned out great!

    1. Yumna J. says:

Yay! Glad it worked in the Whirlpool. I haven’t tried it in anything other than an Air Fryer, so great to know it works well in a different setting with Air Fryer capabilities.

  136. G says:

It doesn’t give you the temperature until the end.

    1. Yumna J. says:

The temperature is in the recipe card, which you can easily get to from the top of the page by selecting the “jump to recipe” button.

  137. Neecy says:

Salmon came out so tasty and juicy. Will definitely be using this way again and just trying different seasoning combos. Thanks!

    1. Yumna J. says:

You’re so welcome! Glad you enjoyed it!

  138. Ca2ld says:

Made this and was surprised at how easy and delirious. Will definitely make again and again. Thanks for an awsome recipe.

    1. Yumna J. says:

You’re so welcome! Glad you enjoyed the salmon!

  139. Mary says:

I’ve made this a couple times already, and it’s such a wonderful, easy, healthy recipe! Thank you as always! ❤️

    1. Yumna J. says:

Aw, thank you for making it!

  140. Valerie Arce says:

Swapped the olive oil for avocado oil,
    Seasoned with lemon pepper.
    Came out Amazing!

    1. Yumna J. says:

So glad you like it, Valerie!

  141. Emma says:

My husband and I usually cook our salmon on the grill but since it’s so cold and icy here in the Midwest, we decided to search for other cooking methods. We stumbled across your recipe and followed your instructions. We couldn’t believe how juicy our salmon came out! Needless to say this is a winner! And in 10 minutes! Thank you! We are happy lol

    1. Yumna J. says:

Yay!!! So happy to hear that you and your husband liked the salmon. It’s my favorite cooking method, for sure when the grill is not an option.

  142. Lauren says:

This is the best salmon recipe! My air fryer is tends to get very hot, so I cooked my ~1 lb piece of salmon at 380 for about 11 minutes and it was perfect! Never going back to cooking salmon in the pan or the oven!

    1. Yumna J. says:

      Thank you!

  143. Toulouse says:

Thanks so much! I put mine on top of a salad. Easy and delicious. Tastier than broiled and so easy to clean.

    1. Yumna J. says:

Yum! Salmon salads are one of my favs! So happy to hear that you enjoyed it!

  144. Nathan Krisher says:

This was delicious and so easy to make! I am starting back on my weightlifting regimen and this is a quick, healthy, and tasty meal that is full of protein and I am not someone who really likes fish but this was quite good. Thanks Yumna!

    1. Yumna J. says:

Thank you, Nathan! I am so glad you liked it!

  145. Katrina says:

I’ve made this 3 times now and it’s incredible. Super easy to make as well. I may go heavier on the seasonings next time.

    1. Yumna J. says:

So glad you like it, Katrina! One of the things I love about this recipe is how versatile it is, and you can definitely pump up the seasonings if you prefer a bolder flavor.

  146. Nicole says:

    Fish haters to Fish Lovers!
We do not like fish in this house even though we are seafood eaters. However, This week in our grocery store there was a good deal on Salmon where you got fresh broccoli, and lemons free if you bought 10$ worth of fresh Salmon. So we did and I found this recipe. Let me just say that I LOVED IT. I ate 2 pieces of Salmon and could have eaten more this was so good. We both agreed that if we do this again, it will be your recipe that we continue to use. Thank you.

    1. Yumna J. says:

Thank you so much! I am so happy to hear that you and your husband both enjoyed the Salmon! I am flattered that my recipe has changed your view on it.

  147. John says:

The recipe doesn’t give cook temp or air fryer temp

    1. Yumna J. says:

Hi John! If you scroll down to the recipe card, you’ll see the cooking time of 7-9 minutes as well as the air fryer temp of 400°F.

  148. Rossemary says:

Hi , do you need to flip the salmon half way threw cooking time ?

    1. Yumna J. says:

Hi Rossemary, great question! You do not have to flip the salmon! Since the air fryer circulates air all around, that step is skipped, unlike pan or oven preparation.

  149. Calen H says:

Sorry but this recipe did nothing for me. My air fryer is new so I was super excited and it did cook the salmon perfectly (but took more than double the time) but as far as seasoning goes this had no flavor whatsoever. Surprised by all the positive reviews but maybe people are just excited at how easy the air fryer is to use.

    1. Yumna J. says:

So sorry it didn’t work out well for you, but I really appreciate the feedback!

    2. Momma tot says:

Sounds like you did something wrong. Mine was perfect

      1. Leslie says:

My husband is making in our air fryer right now. Smells delicious. Something must of gone wrong in recipe Calen. Oh, just tasted. So good!!

  150. Kaitlin says:

Soo good! I actually have never liked salmon before I always made it for my bf in the oven with butter and lemon.. this time I actually ate it!

    1. Yumna J. says:

Yay! I am beyond flattered that you liked my salmon recipe!

  151. Madeline says:

THIS IS FANTASTIC!!!! Thank you so much!

    1. Yumna J. says:

Thank you! So glad you enjoyed it! If you’re a fan of shrimp, I’d love for you to try my Air Fryer Coconut Shrimp and let me know what you think!

  152. Sally says:

This has become my go-to recipe. It’s simple and tasty.

Thank you so much! When you go to my recipe index, you can select Air Fryer from the Method filter to get all of my air fryer recipes.

  154. Kristen says:

I did this recipe but added a little teriyaki sauce and brown sugar with the spices it called for and it was delicious.

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

      That sounds delicious! Yay!

  155. Kaya Singer says:

How do you cook salmon in air fryer so its rare inside. You didn’t mention that. Nothing is worse that over-cooked fish.

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

The key to that is adjusting the cooking time! If you want the salmon to be more medium rare, try reducing the cooking time a few minutes to reach your desired doneness.

  156. Kristin B says:

I will never make salmon any other way now! Turned out fabulous with a beautiful crisp on the outside and so juicy and tender on the inside – amazing.

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

Wow, I am so happy to hear you enjoyed this recipe so much! Thank you!!

  157. meg says:

I have a combination air fryer/toaster oven/convection oven that uses a mesh basket that sits in the middle of the oven for air frying. There are heating bars on both the top and bottom, like a typical toaster oven.

Any fat from the salmon would drip onto those heating bars. Any suggestions for cooking the salmon in this type of air fryer?

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

Did the air fryer come with something you can place under the salmon to catch the dripping?

      1. meg says:

No, there’s no drip pan. I could try parchment paper underneath the salmon. I usually just cook it in a frying pan, takes about 10 minutes.

  158. Dina Kennedy says:

So delicious!! Such a quick and easy recipe that not only makes for a great last minute dinner option but also fools people into thinking it took effort!!

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

      Thank you! Yes, exactly!!

I followed this recipe exactly and my salmon came out perfect. I like the no fuss ingredients and instructions.

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

That’s perfect! I’m glad to hear it!

  160. Ksoul says:

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

That is incredible! The air fryer is seriously so versatile!

  161. Gary k says:

    Only cook as writen
    Perfect as is

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

      Glad you enjoyed!

      1. Brian Higgins says:

What temperature do you air fry salmon

        1. Yumna Jawad says:

400°F. The full recipe is at the bottom of the page in the recipe card.

  162. Kerri says:

Can I use this recipe with froze salmon filets?

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

You could, but I would defrost it first or else the cooking time may change.

  163. Twyla Falteisek says:

After looking at the reviews I thought it would be safe to try it. I was so happy that I did! The flavor was wonderful and not fishy. My husband who does not like paprika was even impressed.

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

Yay!! That is perfect. I am so glad you both enjoyed!

  164. Tabitha says:

The BEST salmon – air fryer or not – I can’t have my salmon any other way now. The seasoning elevates it to the next level. I end up having to cook it for 10-12 minutes to make sure its cooked all the way through, as I cook it straight from the fridge. If it was room temperature (safely), I think it would cook exactly to time.

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

Thank you so much! That is amazing to hear. Yay!!

      1. Jackie says:

Did you wrap it foil at all please

        1. Yumna Jawad says:

          No, I did not.

  165. Cindy Silverstein says:

My air fryer is built into a toaster oven. It’s not a free standing air fryer. I was given this by a friend. The air fryer temp. is automatically set at 400 degrees. I made salmon once a awhile ago; followed a recipe and it came out raw! Never made it since.

I am determined to try it again. I want to master this. My fillets are 1 &1/2 inches thick.

    Suggestions, please.

    Determined in Philly,
    Cindy Silverstein

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

I would follow the instructions and cook the salmon for for 7-9 minutes, as this recipe uses 400F as well. Make sure it is pre-heated before you cook the salmon and start the timer!

  166. Ron Wright says:

Easy and excellent… 5 stars as advertised! Thank you 🙂

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

      Thank you so much!

  167. Kevin Kurtz says:

I loved the Air Fryer Salmon recipe. It was a gret base but I like a bit more spice so I enhanced it by adding a sprinkle of Mrs. Dash and a thin rub of brown sugar. Then I put water in the base of the air fryer. This is to prevent the sugar from burning and to help the salmon stay moist. It does take a little bit longer to cook but not long.

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

Thank you so much! This recipe is super customizable in that way, and that sounds delicious, too!

  168. Dana says:

This looks wonderful. Could I use butter instead of the oil?

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

      Thank you! Yes, you can.

  169. Deb says:

Wow! This was super easy and delicious!
    Best salmon ever!

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

Thank you so much! I’m so glad to hear that!

  170. Pamela says:

My filets are very thin. What cook time do you suggest?

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

It depends on how thick it is! Each fillet I used was around 6 ounces, so you can adjust the timing based on that.

  171. Ren says:

I’m a college student home on a break and this recipe really saved my butt lol. My mom last minute asked me to cook dinner and I had no idea how she trusted me to make salmon! I remembered that our Air fryer has never let me down so I googled a quick recipe and this was the first to pop up! My family absolutely loved it!! Even my father (who doesn’t usually favor salmon) ate a whole piece and asked for seconds lol. 10/10 recipe def try!!!

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

I’m glad to hear it! So happy that everyone enjoyed. Yay!!

  172. Lea says:

We just purchased an air fryer and this was the 1st time I’d attempted salmon in it. May I say, IT WAS PERFECTION! 💕. Thank you thank you THANK YOU! The perfect texture, great flavor. I added some seasonings I love (lemon pepper & oregano) but it was the best. My picky 3 year old gobbled it up. #lifesaver

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

That’s perfect! You’re so welcome. Yum!!

  173. Viju Menon says:

I air fry the salmon fillets also. They remain succulent and moist and taste so good! I do not add oil since the salmon is by itself an oily fish.

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

It seriously is just so good!

  174. Elaine Ophus says:

I made this in my new micro/airfryer combo. It doesn’t have a preheat setting, so I wondered if it would work. I needn’t have worried – it was absolutely delicious!

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

That’s perfect! Glad it worked out!

      1. Estela says:

        Hi!
It is the first time I do air frying, I am wondering if I cover the salmon when adding it to the air frying oven?? Or do I leave it uncovered?

        1. Yumna Jawad says:

          You can cook it uncovered!

  175. Cheryl says:

This salmon was awesome. One of the best and easiest I’ve ever done… so good! I did 5 minutes and checked its temperature… back in for 2 minutes and the thin was done. Back in for 3 minutes and the very thick ones were done. They were all taken out and plated around 130 – 135 degrees and delicious. Made a stir fry of rice with lots of veggies to go with it. So quick and easy. I’ll never go back to pan frying or baking it again. Perfect! Thank you!

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

Thank you so much! That’s perfect. Sounds like a great meal!

  176. Megan says:

Did I miss what which temp to put the air fryer? I don’t see it

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

It can be found at the bottom in the recipe card! It is 400°F.

  177. Warren says:

I could not find the air fryer temp.

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

  178. Robin says:

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

That’s amazing! I’mm so glad to hear that!

  179. Susanna says:

This salmon was amazing! My family won’t eat fish and I don’t eat pasta. I have now found my go to recipe on the nights they want pasta. It was so quick with a lot of flavor.

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

Thank you so much! That’s perfect!

  180. Winnie says:

    As good as everyone says.

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

      Glad you concur! 💛

  181. Kim says:

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

      Yay!

  182. Judy Hart says:

Can I use this recipe for frozen salmon filets?

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

Yes, but I would defrost it first!

    2. Christina says:

Any insight on how it turned out with frozen fillets?

  183. J K says:

HI! I’m going to try this tonight. When putting the salmon in the airfryer do you also use a baking paper or as it is straight in the fryer? Thank you

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

I put it in the air fryer as it is (without baking paper). Can’t wait for you to try the recipe!

  184. grey says:

hi ive never made salmon before so i was wondering did you use atlantic or stock eye salmon? thanks in advance 🙂

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

      You can use either!

  185. adira says:

so delicious! took very little time and came out crispy on the top and moist in the middle. the skin also crisped up and was delicious! highly recommend a squeeze of lemon before eating 🙂

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

Thank you! That’s perfect. I love a squeeze of lemon!

  186. Cathy says:

Had a couple filets in freezer that needed to be cooked soon. Getting comfortable with my air fryer, I looked for something fast. This recipe is so good, so easy and so fast it is the only way I will cook salmon. Delicious. I love it and YOU. Thank you Thank you

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

Thank you so much! That is so kind of you. Always happy to be sharing these recipes!

      1. Rhonda C says:

1st time I’ve tried fish in my air fryer. This was so easy and it turned out perfect. The only thing I did different was used Avacado Oil because that’s all I’ve been using.

        1. Yumna Jawad says:

          That’s amazing!

  187. Gary R says:

Love it. Moist and tasty salmon every time! Thank you! Yumna.

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

Thank you so much! You’re so welcome!

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

      Parsley!

  189. Vicki W. says:

So good, and so easy in the air fryer. I have a toaster oven/air fryer and it took 10 minutes for the thinner pieces, and about 13 minutes for the thick pieces. Turned out very moist and flaky. The absolute best way to cook it IMHO!

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

Thank you so much! That’s perfect!

  190. Norina says:

Easy to prepare – got the time down right, but at what temp???

Delicious, easy and even I, a fish hater, found it very tasty.

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

I’m so glad you enjoyed! Yes!!

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

      Thank you so much!

  194. Pamela says:

I only had a little filet that I had to share with my husband. So sad. I would have gladly let him have my scallops and lobster tail for his share. This was perfect!

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

So glad you enjoyed! Next time for sure!

  195. Alicia says:

How long did you cook the green beans? What temperature?

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

I also cooked that at 400°F!

  196. Lisa says:

Looking forward to making this! Is it ok to use extra virgin olive oil in an air fryer? I noticed the recipe calls for rubbing it on the salmon, so just wanted to check.

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

Can’t wait for you to try it! I haven’t had an issue with it yet.

  197. Jen Travis says:

Ho Im on keto and I LOVE salmon! How long should it take for jus 1 6oz fillet in the air fryer? We jus bought a brand new 8qt air fryer with the touch screen.

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

How exciting! I would still cook it for roughly the same amount of time.

  198. Jo says:

    Wow…!
So easy to prepare and was soooo yummy! My family and I enjoyed this recipe so much! Thanks for sharing!

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed.

  200. CuminLoverCarol says:

This recipe worked absolute wonders! For reference, I used one of the frozen filets from Costco (186g) of salmon. I preheated for 3 minutes. It came out so delectable and moist! This recipe is definitely the best! I’m sending this to all my air fryer owning friends!!!

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

Thank you! I love that. Hope you all enjoy!

    2. Christina says:

Awesome! I’m hoping this was a repeatable outcome? I’ve boycotted frozen salmon fillets bc every other way I’ve tried cooking them it came out awful, mushy, with a horrible texture, and flavorless. If you confirm that it’s been great multiple times using frozen, I might consider buying frozen again.

      1. Cumin Carol says:

I understand your boycott. It has indeed been amazing but I did get one to be mushy (DO NOT use a frozen one directly to the air fryer. That’s why it was mushy). My secret tip would be to remove your salmon filet from the freezer the day before you want to make this recipe. That way it’s softer and the heat will evenly cook your filet. (I work from home so I also leave it on the counter 2-5 hours before I want to make salmon and that works as well). I skipped this once and well… it was edible but not the stunner I raved about.

Give the frozen filets another chance Christina. I think you’ll like them! If you need any tips, I got you:)

  201. Janice Rizzo says:

I have a Frigidaire gas stove with a built in air fryer. I tried the salmon recipe after heating up the air fryer I tested the salmon after 10 minutes and it was raw in the center. I had to cook it for another 12 minutes. It was very moist but it never browned. It’s a new stove but I wonder if the air fryer is defective?

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

Did you preheat it? If it’s bigger, it’s going to need more time to heat it up and cook. I’m not sure if it’s defective, but it definitely sounds like it needed a few extra minutes to cook.

    2. Fred Atkey says:

Just buy the wild caught salmon and you can’t go wrong!

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

      Thank you! I love that!

  205. Don says:

Delicious! The absolutely best salmon I’ve ever had. I usually cook it on the grill, but no more. The salmon was crispy on not only the bottom, but the top, as well. And the inside was fluffy and not overdone, which is what normally happens when I cook on the grill to get the top crispy. I used Tone’s Rosemary Seasoning, but look forward to trying the entire recipe.

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

      Thank you! That’s perfect!

  206. Cindy says:

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

Cook at 400°F for 7-9 minutes.

  220. Jessica Singleton says:

Hi could I do this with frozen salmon or does it need to be defrosted first?

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

If you try this with frozen salmon, I would recommend defrosting it first, or else the cooking time will change.

      1. zaher kafrouni says:

        Hey Yumna,

What is the best way to defrost?
I wanted to cook it directly from the freezer and saw this comment 😀

I want an easy, fast way to defrost

        1. Yumna Jawad says:

With the salmon in a plastic ziplock bag, place it in a bowl under cool running water. Replace the water every 10 minutes until the salmon has thawed!

  221. Dipa says:

  227. Tina says:

Can u cook broccoli in with the salmon or should I cook broccoli after the salmon is cooked? Sorry, I’m new to air frying…

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

It really depends on how big your air fryer is and what temperature you’re cooking it at. If you can fit the broccoli in with the salmon and are also going to be cooking it at 400°F, you can cook the broccoli in with the salmon. You might have to take the broccoli out before the salmon though (if the broccoli is finished cooking before the salmon).

  228. WillyB says:

    THIS RECIPE IS INSANE.

I LOVE salmon and you have no clue how bad I felt the whole time making these perfect salmon cuts up just to go in the air fryer….
however this is BY FAR the best finished salmon I have EVER had. And I really mean it, I have had more than my body weight in salmon over my life.

This is better than mommas recipe,
    Its better than my neighbors,
    Its better than my grammas,
Its better than any of the many (nice) restaurants I’ve had salmon at,

My relationship is doing great and the sex is good.

    This salmon is better.

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

I’m so glad you enjoyed it so much! Wow, thank you so much!!

  231. Brenda says:

So I ran out of olive oil is there a way that I can use vegetable oil instead?

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

Yes, the recipe should still work that way!

  232. Marianne says:

Is there not an option to print the air fryer salmon recipe.

    1. Yumna J. says:

When you scroll all the way to the bottom where there’s a recipe card (a card that summarizes the recipe), there will be a little printer icon on the recipe photo. You can click on that and print the recipe. Please let me know if that works!

  233. Krystal Taylor says:

Hi I was just wondering will coconut oil be a good replacement for the olive oil?

    1. Yumna J. says:

It should still work! You may want to use refined coconut oil, as it’s mostly flavorless.

  234. Cher says:

This is the second recipe that I have made from your blog. I equally give it five stars! I love my air fryer attachment for my instapot and I usually buy salmon with the skin on and it’s important for me that the skin is crispy. This was super easy and a quick dinner. I am definitely now a loyal follower of your blog.

This was my first ever salmon meal and with my new air fryer. I didn’t have paprika but I used some Old Bay seasoning, lemon pepper, and garlic powder. I used avocado oil, (I had it on the shelf); cooked for about 18 minutes since my filets were a little thicker. Served with a side of asparagus. Thanks for the great start with your recipe.

    1. Yumna J. says:

Sounds like it ended up being a delicious meal! Most welcome!!

Yay, so glad to hear you enjoyed it! Thank you for sharing 🙂

  246. Jan says:

Do you cook it skin side down? I want the skin to be crispy. I’m new to the air fryer and have only cooked fries in it! 😂

    1. Yumna Jawad says:

I cook skin side down because I just remove the skin. But if you want it to be crispy, you can cook with the skin side up!
