I’ve been a fan of Staub cookware for years because of its durability, gorgeous looks, and ability to be used on a stovetop or in the oven. Other Non-Toxic Cookware to Consider

Made In The Stainless Set, 10-Piece

Like the All-Clad set I love, this stainless steel cookware set from Made In is non-toxic and made without PFOAs. The set includes everything a home cook would need to outfit their kitchen — a 10-inch non-stick fry pan, a 10-inch stainless steel fry pan, a 2-quart saucepan with lid, and an 8-quart saucepan with lid. This set is super similar to the All-Clad set, but I’m a bit more unfamiliar with Made In. The Made In The Stainless Set, 10-Piece is available at Amazon for $799.

Our Place Ultimate Cookware Set

If you love filling your kitchen with color, then this non-toxic set could be right for you! Every pot and pan from the makers of the Always Pan is finished with a non-stick coating that’s made without potentially toxic materials like PFAS, lead, and cadmium. Unlike other sets in this list, the Our Place set includes a few pieces of bakeware, which is great if you need to stock your kitchen from scratch. Keep in mind that, like other non-stick sets, the coating on this cookware will eventually wear off. The Our Place Ultimate Cookware Set is available at Our Place for $585.

Lodge Cast Iron 4-Piece Cookware Set

This cast-iron cookware set is a great budget buy, but you won’t get any of the fun color options. Like other cast-iron sets, this one is non-toxic and great for making healthy meals for your family, but the pots and pans are relatively heavy. The Lodge cookware set includes a 10.25-inch skillet, a 10.5-inch round griddle, and a 5-quart Dutch oven with a lid. The Lodge Cast Iron 4-Piece Cookware Set is available at Amazon for $101.78

Zwilling Spirit 3-Ply 10-Piece Stainless Steel Cookware Set

If Zwilling is your go-to cookware brand, you’ll love this non-toxic stainless steel cookware set. The set includes 10 pieces, which might be too much clutter if you have a small kitchen, so keep in mind your available space. This set includes an 8-inch fry pan, 10-inch fry pan, 1-quart saucepan with lid, 2-quart saucepan with lid, 3-quart sauté pan with lid, and 6-quart Dutch oven with lid. The Zwilling Spirit 3-Ply 10-Piece Stainless Steel Cookware Set is available at Amazon for $349.99.

Why You Can Trust Me

Hi, I’m Yumna! I started Feed Good Foodie over 10 years ago when I was still learning to cook. More than a decade later, my goal is still the same as it was then — to make healthy meals for the whole family as easy and fun as possible! I’ve got tons of recipe ideas, from appetizers to desserts to Lebanese-inspired mains.

I cook all of my easy, delicious dishes in my favorite non-toxic cookware because I try to make things as healthy as possible for me and my family. I’ve personally used most of the products in this list, and for the non-toxic cookware I don’t cook with regularly in my own kitchen, I’ve read through reviews from top food publications and blogs to make my final recommendations.

What to Consider Before Buying Non-Toxic Cookware

Here’s what to consider before getting non-toxic pots and pans to fill your kitchen.

Number of pieces: The first thing to consider before buying non-toxic cookware is exactly which pieces you need. Do you need to stock your whole kitchen with pots and pans? Then, a larger set with 10 pieces and various pots, fry pans, and saute pans might be best for you. For a more minimal set to round out your collection of favorite cookware, a set with just a pot and pan would be the best fit.

Material: All of the cookware on this list features material that is made without harmful chemicals that could get into the foods you’re cooking. Both stainless steel and cast iron are naturally non-toxic but can be expensive for quality items. Cookware made with aluminum is also non-toxic, but food tends to stick to it.

Nonstick coating: Unfortunately, most non-stick coatings are made with chemicals, which are considered to be safe at most temperatures but can break down at high temperatures and be released into the air. Ceramic provides a natural non-stick surface without the use of toxic chemicals and is a great non-toxic alternative if you prefer nonstick pans.

Colors: You may also want to consider which set would best match the aesthetic of your kitchen — if you love color, you’ll be excited to pick out your favorite hue from the colorful cookware out there. Are you more of a minimalist who likes sleek vibes? Then a stainless steel set will probably suit you best.

What Does Non-Toxic Cookware Mean?

Non-toxic cookware is any cookware that’s made without non-stick coating that contains PFAS — which includes polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), both commonly referred to as Teflon — and heavy metals. When those non-stick pans are heated too high, the chemicals begin to degrade and can be absorbed into whatever you’re cooking. These are the most common materials for non-toxic cookware.

Is Ceramic Cookware Non-Toxic?

Yes! The coating on ceramic cookware is made of silica (which comes from sand) and is both naturally non-stick and non-toxic. However, you’ll want to be careful to avoid using metal cooking utensils on ceramic cookware as they scratch the coating and degrade the quality.

Is Stainless Steel Cookware Non-Toxic?

Also yes! Stainless steel is a great option if you’re looking for non-toxic cookware — just be sure to care for these pots and pans properly to ensure they last a long time. To do so, let your stainless steel cookware cool entirely before washing to avoid warping from temperature shock, then wash with soap, warm water, and a non-abrasive sponge or cloth.

What is the Safest Cookware for Your Health?

The safest cookware for your health is any cookware made of stainless steel, cast iron (coated with enamel or uncoated), carbon steel, and ceramic materials. My favorite brands for non-toxic cookware are all seen in this list above!
