Electric griddles make it so easy to cook all kinds of meals for your family! I love using mine to make banana pancakes for Sunday breakfast or a quick grilled cheese sandwich for lunch. If you want to get a little more creative, you can even use them to make fresh tortillas at home! As someone who spends a lot of time in the kitchen, I know how important it is to have reliable appliances that are worth the counter (or cabinet) space. That’s why I did a ton of research to come up with this list of the best electric griddles you can buy.
My all-time favorite is this model from Cuisinart, which I’ve been using in my kitchen for the past five years! I also dug into customer reviews and looked at recommendations from other cooking experts to come up with a list of options that I think are worth adding to your kitchen.
Whether you’re looking for a dual-plated option to make paninis or you want a lightweight version that’s easy to store, you’ll find what you need in this list of the best electric griddles.

Reviews of The Best Electric Griddles
1. What’s in My Kitchen: Cuisinart Griddler
I’ve owned the Cuisinart Griddler for about 5 years and I absolutely love it! It’s a 5-in-1 model that has reversible grill plates, which means it can function as a contact grill, full grill, full griddle, half grill/griddle, and a panini press! It’s great for serving large groups since it opens flat so it can be used as two griddles. Not only is it super versatile, but it also saves some space since you don’t need separate appliances (like a panini grill, which I don’t use too often).
The grill plates are non-stick and sometimes I don’t even have to clean them if I’m just making plain pancakes. But since they’re dishwasher-safe, they’re easy to clean when it’s time. All in all, this griddle is super easy to use, and I love that it heats up quickly.

- Overall Dimensions: 13.5 x 11.5 x 7.12 inches

What Others are Saying:

2. Best Budget: Black+Decker Family Size Electric Griddle
The Black+Decker Family Size Electric Griddle is an excellent budget-friendly model. It usually retails for around $50 and you don’t have to sacrifice any features in the name of cost, either. It has a large cooking surface that can fit up to 8 small pancakes at one time, plus an easy-to-use dial that lets you set and lock in the temperature while you’re cooking.
Cleanup is also a cinch. The surface is non-stick so it just needs a quick wipe down after use. Plus, there’s a removable grease tray while the base itself is fully immersible in water (as long as the electric probe is removed) for more straightforward cleaning. There’s a warming tray, which is a unique feature, but heads up that reviewers say it’s a little too small to be practical for larger, family meals.
The Specs:
- Overall Dimensions: 13 x 22 x 3.5 inches
- Cooking Surface Dimensions: 10 x 20 inches
- Weight: 12.1 pounds
- Maximum Temperature: 400 degrees Fahrenheit
The Pros:
- Inexpensive
- Large cooking surface
- Heats up quickly
- Easy to clean
The Cons:
- Not as durable as others
- Small warming compartment
- Short power cord
What Others are Saying:
U.S. News picked the Black+Decker Family Size Electric Griddle as the best family-sized griddle and AllRecipes also named it the best budget option. It also has a 4.6-star rating from more than 4,000 Amazon buyers.

3. Best Multipurpose Electric Griddle: Zojirushi Gourmet Sizzler Electric Griddle
Any griddle can be a multipurpose appliance, but most have a fairly flat surface that can limit what you’re able to cook. I like the Zojirushi Gourmet Sizzler Electric Griddle because it’s extra deep, which makes it more versatile. Variable heat settings also contribute to its versatility, plus it has a warming function (and a lid!) so you cook in advance and keep food warm while you wait for everyone to make their way to the table.
It also has a large, ceramic-coated cooking surface, which is one of the best materials for even heat distribution, and it’s easy to clean. I also like that the cooking plate sits flush inside the body guard. This reduces the risk of burns, especially when you have little ones helping you cook breakfast. For easy cleanup, the plates are removable and the body guard is fully immersible, so you can soak both if need be.
The Specs:
- Overall Dimensions: 15 x 23.63 x 4.63 inches
- Cooking Surface Dimensions: 12.5 x 19 inches
- Weight: 12 pounds
- Maximum Temperature: 425 degrees Fahrenheit
The Pros:
- Versatile
- Large cooking surface
- Easy to clean
The Cons:
- Pricey
- Bulky
- No grease trap
What Others are Saying:
The Spruce Eats, Reviewed, Serious Eats and AllRecipes all recommend the Zojirushi Gourmet Sizzler Electric Griddle. It also has a 4.6-star rating from more than 1,600 shoppers on Amazon.

4. Best Electric Griddle for Small Spaces: Presto 22-Inch Electric Griddle
I chose the Presto 22-Inch Electric Griddle as the best electric griddle for small spaces not just because it has a small cooking surface, but because it’s easier to store than other models. The handles are removable, so you can put it right in a standard-size kitchen cabinet just like you would with a baking sheet. That means you don’t need extra space or large cabinets. It’s also extremely lightweight and easy to move around your kitchen — it weighs just over 5 pounds, while other similar size griddles weigh more than double that!
You can certainly find smaller griddles, but in my opinion, this one gives you the best of both worlds. It has a 12-by-22-inch cooking surface so you can still cook food for the whole family without having to dedicate counter space to another appliance. Other callouts include the non-stick cooking surface and easy-to-use heat control knob that lets you set your desired temperature without any fuss. I also think the price is really reasonable because it’s not that much more expensive than my budget pick.
The Specs:
- Overall Dimensions: 13.5 x 26.25 x 2.5 inches
- Cooking Surface Dimensions: 12 x 22 inches
- Weight: 5.34 pounds
- Maximum Temperature: 425 degrees Fahrenheit
The Pros:
- Easy to store
- Heats up fast
- Budget-friendly
- Non-stick cooking surface
The Cons:
- Minimal protection from hot surface
- No tilt for grease
- Textured surface makes it harder to clean
What Others are Saying:
Real Simple named it as the best large electric griddle and Serious Eats dubbed it as the best smaller electric griddle. Plus, it has more than 40,700 reviews on Amazon, with an average rating of 4.7 stars.

5. Best Outdoor Electric Griddle: Blackstone 22-Inch Tabletop Griddle
Blackstone is known for their top-notch outdoor griddles, so it’s no surprise that the brand’s tabletop griddle landed on my list. I like this E-Series Griddle from Blackstone because it can be used both indoors and outdoors, and it has a ton of features that make it worth the extra price. For starters, it has a large cooking surface with two temperature zones so you can cook two completely different foods at once. Want to make hamburgers on one side and grilled cheese on the other? No problem!
There’s also an LCD display that lets you monitor temperature. I also really like that it has a see-through cover, which makes it easier to melt cheese and keep an eye on foods as they cook. One thing to note is that this is still an electric griddle, so you’ll need access to an outdoor plug to use it.
The Specs:
- Overall Dimensions: 20.25 x 24 x 7.25 inches
- Cooking Surface Dimensions: 13.5 x 22.75 inches
- Weight: 26.7 pounds
- Maximum Temperature: 450 degrees Fahrenheit
The Pros:
- Large cooking surface
- Easy to read display
- Versatile
- Two cooking zones
The Cons:
- Bulky
- Expensive
- Heavy
What Others are Saying:
The Strategist recommends the Blackstone as the best splurge electric griddle and U.S. News named it the best portable option.

Other Electric Griddles to Consider
Hamilton Beach 3-in-1 Electric Indoor Grill
This electric griddle from Hamilton Beach caught my eye because of the two heating zones, which is a cool idea for those who want to cook multiple items at once. But the way it’s split makes it harder to cook things like pancakes (which is why you might want an electric griddle in the first place). Some may prefer this setup, but I don’t think it’s as versatile (or convenient!) as the other winners. The Hamilton Beach 3-in-1 Electric Indoor Grill is available at Amazon for $69.99.
Presto Cool Touch Electric Griddle
Presto griddles are some of the most popular, and this model has a lot of good reviews. The surface area is a bit smaller than other highly rated Presto options (like my 22-inch pick), which could limit functionality. Because of this, I think this one is best for those who don’t need to cook a lot of food at once. The Presto Cool Touch Electric Griddle is available at Amazon for $39.99.
Presto Tilt ‘n Drain BigGriddle Cool-Touch Griddle
The large surface area of this one makes it appealing, but it can be more difficult to clean and store. Plus, it’s heavier so it’s not as easy to move around the kitchen. I didn’t choose it as a winner because of this, but I do think it’s a great option for those who have extra storage space. The Presto Tilt ‘n Drain BigGriddle Cool-Touch Griddle is available at Amazon for $61.19.
Wolf Gourmet Precision Electric Griddle
Wolf Gourmet makes beautiful appliances and this griddle is no exception! But it’s much more expensive than other options that perform just as well. It’s also bulky and takes up more countertop space than most people would likely want to give to a griddle. The Wolf Gourmet Precision Electric Griddle is available at Amazon for $529.95.
Dash Everyday Griddle
This Everyday Griddle from Dash has many of the same features as some of the top picks. Plus, I especially like that it comes in different colors. If you have to leave it on your countertop, you could choose the one that looks best with your kitchen aesthetic. Ultimately, I didn’t choose it because I think the other options from the other brands are better choices and there’s nothing about this one (aside from the color options) that make it stand out from the crowd. The Dash Everyday Griddle is available at Amazon for $44.99.
Why You Can Trust Me
Hi! I’m Yumna, a recipe creator and the founder of Feel Good Foodie, which I started 10 years ago. When starting Feel Good Foodie, my goal was to make healthy meals for the family as easy and fun as possible — and nothing has changed! I’m all about simplicity in the kitchen and finding tools that can make your home life much easier! I use an electric griddle all the time, and think it’s a great appliance to have on-hand.
To come up with this list of the best electric food griddles, I combined my personal experience (I’ve had my electric griddle for five years and it’s still going strong) with extensive research. I looked at popular models with lots of consumer reviews and read through advice from cooking experts and professional product testers. From there, I narrowed it down to five options that I think are worth considering.
Everything to Know Before Buying Electric Griddles
What to Consider Before Buying Electric Griddles
- Overall size: When shopping for an electric griddle, you’ll want to consider the overall footprint. Check the dimensions and make sure you have the counter or storage space for it. Some electric griddles have removable legs or other features that make them easier to store. If you have a smaller kitchen, you may want to consider buying one that has some of these features.
- Cooking area: In addition to the overall size, you want to think about the size of the cooking area. If you have a big family to cook for, you’ll want one that has a large, flat surface that fits more food. If you’re just serving one or two people, you can likely get away with getting a smaller griddle.
- Ease of cleaning: Electric griddles are meant to make your life easier, so you don’t want one that’s a pain to clean. Look for removable plates, immersible bases, and dishwasher-safe components. Most are non-stick, but you’ll also want to double check that the one you’re considering has a non-stick surface that’s easier to wipe down.
- Temperature control: Electric griddles range in temperature and have different ways to control that temperature. You may be fine with a model that has one temperature zone, but if you like to cook multiple types of food at once, you might want to consider one that has two temperature zones. You may also want to consider additional features, like a warming function.
How Do You Clean an Electric Griddle?
It depends on the griddle’s material, so always make sure you’re reading the manual and following the manufacturer’s recommendations. That said, I let my griddle cool down completely and then remove the plates and wash it with soap and water. Some griddles come with plates and other parts that are dishwasher-safe, though.
What Can You Cook on an Electric Griddle?
You can cook so many foods on an electric griddle! Pancakes are a go-to for me — I love making my fluffy Lemon Ricotta Pancakes and high-protein Cottage Cheese Pancakes on my electric griddle.
You can also make French toast, grilled cheese, burgers, quesadillas, grilled vegetables, steaks, and eggs. Most things that you can make in a fry pan, you can cook on an electric griddle. The exception is any dish with lots of sauce, since griddles aren’t typically as deep as fry pans.
How Long Should You Cook Burgers on an Electric Griddle?
It depends on the size of the burgers, but you want to cook them the same way you would on a grill or in a frying pan. Typically, I recommend 3 to 5 minutes per side until it reaches your desired internal temperature.
Can You Boil Water on an Electric Griddle?
I don’t recommend using an electric griddle to boil water. While they’re both flat surfaces, they don’t function in the same way as a stovetop. Think of them more as a flat frying pan — it’s not a great idea to put a saucepan full of water on top.
The Best Griddle Recipes
While pancakes are the obvious choice for cooking on a griddle, there are so many other recipes you can try! Here are some of my favorite recipes:
- Vegan French Toast
- Grilled Cheese
- Flour Tortillas
- Pizzadillas
- Grilled Halloumi
- Grilled Mediterranean Chicken Kabobs
