Simple Guacamole Recipe
Try this simple guacamole recipe with ripe avocados, red onion, cilantro, jalapeño, garlic, and fresh lime juice.
Prep Time10 minutes mins
Total Time10 minutes mins
Servings: 6 servings
- 3 avocados
- ½ cup red onion finely chopped
- ¼ cup cilantro chopped
- 1 garlic clove minced
- 1 jalapeño seeded and finely minced
- 1 lime juiced
- ½ teaspoon salt
Cut the avocados in half lengthwise. Remove the pit, scoop out the avocado flesh with a spoon, and place the avocado halves in a medium bowl. Mash with a fork to your desired consistency.
Add the red onions, cilantro, garlic, jalapeño, lime juice, and salt. Stir to combine. Taste and adjust seasoning or lime juice as necessary.
Serve immediately with tortilla chips, if desired.
My Top Tip: Chop the mix-ins finely. Small pieces distribute more evenly, so every scoop has a little bit of everything.
Storage: Store any leftover homemade guacamole in an airtight container. It will last about 3-4 days in the fridge. Press a piece of plastic wrap directly against the surface to help prevent browning. If some browning happens, scrape off the browned layer before serving.
