Simple Guacamole Recipe

Try this simple guacamole recipe with ripe avocados, red onion, cilantro, jalapeño, garlic, and fresh lime juice.

Ingredients

  • 3 avocados
  • ½ cup red onion finely chopped
  • ¼ cup cilantro chopped
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • 1 jalapeño seeded and finely minced
  • 1 lime juiced
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Cut the avocados in half lengthwise. Remove the pit, scoop out the avocado flesh with a spoon, and place the avocado halves in a medium bowl. Mash with a fork to your desired consistency.
  • Add the red onions, cilantro, garlic, jalapeño, lime juice, and salt. Stir to combine. Taste and adjust seasoning or lime juice as necessary.
  • Serve immediately with tortilla chips, if desired.

My Top Tip: Chop the mix-ins finely. Small pieces distribute more evenly, so every scoop has a little bit of everything.
Storage: Store any leftover homemade guacamole in an airtight container. It will last about 3-4 days in the fridge. Press a piece of plastic wrap directly against the surface to help prevent browning. If some browning happens, scrape off the browned layer before serving.
