  • ¾ cup homemade or store-bought hummus
  • 4 slices of bread

  • Toast the slices of bread in a toaster or toaster oven.
  • Spread about 3 tablespoons of hummus on each piece of toast. Add the toppings of choice and enjoy immediately!

Storage: It's best to consume the hummus toast right when you make it because the hummus may leave the bread soft and soggy if left for hours. However the homemade hummus itself will last up to 7 days in the fridge in an airtight container. Store-bought hummus may last even longer depending on the brand.
Make Ahead Tips: You can make the hummus up to 7 days in advance and store it in the fridget to top your bread with it as you like.
Equipment: I use my Kitchen Aid food processor to make hummus and let the machine run for about 5 minutes. It creates a very creamy consistency with minimal effort.
Nutrition: Please note that the nutrition label provided is an estimate based on an online nutrition calculator. The nutrition value is for one serving without any toppings. This may vary depending the specific brand of hummus you buy or how you make it.
