Preheat the oven to 425°F.
Place the sweet potatoes on a sheet pan, add melted butter, salt to taste and pinch of cinnamon.
Toss to coat, and then spread the sweet potatoes on the pan in a single layer, not touching.
Bake for 20 minutes. Then flip the potatoes, drizzle them with maple syrup, and return to the oven for 20 more minutes.
Potatoes will be golden brown on the outside with a nice crisp, while the insides will be soft and the syrup will be reduced and bubbly.
Sprinkle pecans on top, add more maple syrup if you desire, and enjoy hot and melty.
