Servings: 8 servings
- 2 tablespoons dried basil
- 2 tablespoons oregano
- 2 tablespoons dried parsley
- 1 tablespoon dried marjoram
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- ¼ teaspoon dried sage
In a small mixing bowl, combine all the spices and mix until well combined.
Transfer to a spice bottle or air tight container. Spice mixture will keep for about 6 months.
Recipe yields 1/2 cup.
Storage: Store seasoning mix in an airtight container or a spice jar in the pantry for up to 6 months, away from direct sunlight.
Tips:
Use good quality herbs. Quality matters when you're working with herbs as they lose their potency over time. If you buy herbs in bulk, store them in the freezer to prolong freshness.
Recycle those spice bottles. I like to make a batch of this when one of my dried herbs is used up. This recipe fits neatly inside a standard 4-ounce spice bottle, so once it’s mixed, you can store it in your spice drawer.
