Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line an 8x8 baking pan with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, whisk together the oil and sugar until the sugar dissolves. Beat the eggs and vanilla until well combined.
Add the cocoa powder, flour and salt and stir until thoroughly combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and use a spatula to smooth the top. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with only a few crumbs. It’s better to under bake the brownies than to overbake them.
Allow to cool completely for at least 30 minutes on a wire rack.
Use a heart shaped stencil to cut the brownies into heart shapes. Add sprinkles if desired. Store the rest of the pieces for snacking.
- My Top Tip: Make it simple to remove the cooked brownies: The easiest way to remove the brownies from the pan is to have an excess of parchment paper kind of hanging over the sides. When the mixture is cooked and ready to take out of the pan, you can lift up on the parchment paper and remove the entire batch easily.
- Storage: Store leftover brownies in an airtight container at room temperature or in the fridge.
- Freezing: Remember to let the brownies cool down completely before storing them in a freezer-safe bag. As long as they're sealed, they should last for up to 2 months in the freezer.
