Preheat the oven to 375°F.
Pat the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel. Season with salt and pepper and brush with oil on both sides.
Place the chicken breasts in an 8x11 baking dish, presentation side down. Brush ½ cup of the BBQ sauce on top of the chicken and bake for 20 minutes. Flip the chicken and brush the remaining sauce on top of the chicken. Continue baking for 10-12 more minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Transfer to a plate, tent with aluminum foil, and let rest for 5 minutes.
My Top Tip: Bake time can vary depending on the thickness of the chicken. Check the baked BBQ chicken breast at the thickest part with an instant-read thermometer and remove it from the oven once it reaches 165°F.
Storage: Store the baked BBQ chicken breasts in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat in the microwave or covered in the oven at 350ºF until warmed through.
Freezing: Let the baked BBQ chicken breasts cool completely, then transfer them to a freezer-safe container or bag and freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge before reheating.
