Avocado Burger
Quick and easy to make, this grilled avocado burger is juicy and full of flavor. Top it with avocado crema and add it to your summer barbecue!

Servings: 4 servings
For the Crema:
- 1 avocado
- ¼ cup Greek yogurt or sour cream
- 1 lime zested and juiced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
For the Burger:
- ½ avocado
- 1 pound ground beef 90% lean
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 hamburger buns for serving
- Lettuce and tomato slices for serving
Make the crema. In a food processor, combine all ingredients until creamy. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Set aside in the fridge until ready to serve.
Make the burgers. In a large bowl, mash the avocado. Add beef, salt and pepper and mix until combined. Form into 4-5 patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
Preheat a grill or cast iron pan to medium high heat. Add oil and cook the burgers until seared and golden brown, 4 minutes per side. Transfer to a platter and serve with a bun, reserved avocado crema, and desired toppings.
Storage: Store the patties in an airtight container for up to 4 days. Reheat on the stovetop until warmed through.
Freezing Instructions: You can freeze the burgers before cooking by placing them on a baking sheet in the freezer. When frozen, transfer to an airtight container or freezer bag and keep for 3 months.
