Avocado Burger Recipe
This avocado burger recipe features lean ground beef and ripe avocados inside the patties, adding moisture and fat, keeping the burger from drying.

Servings: 4 servings
For the Crema:
- 1 avocado
- ¼ cup Greek yogurt or sour cream
- 1 lime zested and juiced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
For the Burger:
- ½ avocado
- 1 pound ground beef 90% lean
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 hamburger buns for serving
- Lettuce and tomato slices for serving
Make the avocado crema. Combine all ingredients in a food processor until creamy. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Set aside in the fridge until ready to serve.
Form the the avocado burgers. In a large bowl, mash the avocado with a fork. Add beef, salt, and pepper, and mix until combined. Form into 4–5 patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
Make the burgers. Preheat a grill or cast iron pan to medium high heat. Add oil and cook the burgers until seared and golden brown, 4 minutes per side. Transfer to a platter.
Assemble the avocado burgers. Serve on a bun with lettuce, tomato, reserved avocado crema, and other desired toppings.
Storage: Store the patties in an airtight container for up to 4 days. Reheat on the stovetop until warmed through.
Freezing Instructions: Mix and form the burgers, stack them with parchment paper between each patty, and place them in an airtight container or freezer bag for up to 3 months.
