LEBANESE GARLIC SAUCE

CLASSIC TOUM RECIPE

What is lebanese garlic sauce or toum?

It's a thick, creamy garlic sauce that's more like a spread than a sauce.

Lebanese garlic sauce is made by emulsifying garlic and oil...so simple!

Toum is amazing with shawarma, rotisserie chicken or more...you'll want to put this VEGAN SAUCE on everything!

INGREDIENTS

▢ garlic cloves ▢ salt ▢ canola or safflower oil  ▢ fresh lemon juice

STEP 1

a bunch of garlic cloves until you have a cup of garlic.

STEP 2

the garlic in half lengthwise.

slice

STEP 3

tthe garlic and salt in a food processor (the best way to make it!)

STEP 4

the garlic and salt until well mixed.

STEP 5

the oil...ONE TABLESPOON at a time. This is the most important step...be patient!

 the lemon juice alternately with more oil. After 15 minutes, it'll look like this...
