10 Gifts for the Foodie on Your List

Smart Stick Hand Blender: I bought this 10 years ago when I first got married and it’s still one of my favorite kitchen tools! I use the hand blender when I make soup every single week. The hand piece has 3 attachments: one for blending (which is what I use most often), one for whisking (awesome if you don’t have an electric whisker) and one of the chopper/grinder attachment (which is basically the cutest little food processor that I use to make guacamole, dressings and sauces).

Inspiralizer: For everyone who sends me questions about how I get those cool spiraled sweet potatoes, zucchini, carrots, whatever…this is how I do it! It has different settings so you can make your veggies thin like spaghetti or bigger like little disks. I love using it for zoodles and mixing that with actual noodles…twice the amount of food in my bowl for less calories…score!

Cast Iron Skillet: What’s the big woop with these? It’s one of the few nonstick pans that can go safely from the stovetop to the oven. It’s the key to one-pan cooking! And I just really like the way it looks in food photography too…haha!

Rapid Egg Cooker: No mess, no fuss eggs – however you want them in 10 minutes. My husband is obsessed with this and prepares eggs for the week this way! You can make hard, medium, and soft boiled eggs, individual omelettes, poached eggs or even scrambled eggs…for realz!

Nespresso Machine: Because the second cup of coffee in the middle of the afternoon needs to be a fancy one! We have a regular coffee machine and this one. We found that the capsules that Nespresso makes are way better than any other instant single cup capsules we’ve ever tasted. They taste like you’re enjoying coffee, lattes, espresso or cappuccino at your favorite hipster coffee shop. We’re obsessed!

All Clad Cookware Set: This is on the pricey side, but if you are tired of buying new pots and pans every year, this is the set to invest in! I’ve been moving around for 10 years and finally settled in and bought a home, and this was one of the first things on my list to buy!

InstaPot: Ok, I haven’t officially used this yet, but it has like 25,000 customer reviews and is probably on 10 times that many wish lists this holiday season.  I’m unboxing it this week and so excited to try it!! Basically anything you want to make in the kitchen – Soup, Meat/Stew, Bean/Chili, Poultry, Sauté/Simmer, Rice, Multigrain, Porridge, Steam, Slow Cook, Keep Warm, Yogurt, Manual, and Pressure Cook – it does it all! I just wish it could also wash the dishes in my kitchen! But at least clean-up isn’t too bad!

Nutribullet: Because we all know that “eat healthier” and “make more smoothies” will be on your list for 2018 New Year’s resolutions. This machine is so much more affordable than a blender and makes it super easy to make smoothies, shakes, sauces and dips.

Breville Juicer: If you’re not so much into smoothies and prefer juices, try this juicer. When we lived in Florida, we used to stock up on a ton of vegetables from the local year-round farmer’s market. We would use the kids’ double stroller to haul back all that produce to our apartment within walking distance and then the kids would climb up on the counter and juice whatever they wanted. It’s so simple to use for adults and toddlers (with supervision) and it’s been our favorite still after all these years. We still make juice with ours but now it’s at the end of the week when we’re trying to clean out the fridge.

NEST Fragrance Reeds: It’s not really used for cooking, but if you’re cooking and entertaining a lot this holiday season, this will make your house smell heavenly. Pro Tip: Get the Holiday scent and you will never need to use those plug-ins ever again. It’s healthier, “homier” and so heavenly-smelling!
